New Member Sponsor Responsibilities
As a New Member Sponsor, you are responsible for helping new members of the Region VIII IPP RAC to become acquainted and comfortable with the structure and processes of the Region VIII IPP RAC.
The role of the New Member Sponsor includes, but is not limited to:
- Getting to know each other. This can be brief, but it needs to be something that fosters a connection so that the new member is comfortable addressing you with questions and concerns.
- Setting up 2 to 3 times to talk on the phone. These phone calls should take place relatively soon after the new member has joined the RAC. These are meant to give the new member a chance to verbalize questions that he/she may have once he/she has reviewed the Region VIII IPP RAC member orientation manual. These phone calls do not have to be time or labor intensive.
- Periodically checking in. After the initial 2 to 3 phone calls, it is important to stay in touch by simply scheduling a brief phone call every month until the new member feels comfortable with his/her new role in the Region VIII IPP RAC.
- Providing any articles or other information that you have found helpful. The new member will have received new member orientation information. Feel free to also share any other information that you think will make the transition onto the Region VIII IPP RAC smoother.
